It has come at last. After a long tough journey to this point we are now set. The NBA Finals have finally arrived for 2013. It will place the best team in the Eastern Conference the Miami Heat going against the #2 seed in the West the San Antonio Spurs. The two best teams left standing will hook it up with a championship on the line. Lets take a look at the two teams involved in this years finals.
This will be the San Antonio Spurs' fifth appearance in the NBA Finals, attempting to win their fifth NBA championship in team history. The Spurs finished the regular season with 58 wins, finishing in first place in the Southwest Division and the second overall regular season record among Western Conference teams. They recorded only two losses in the first three rounds of the playoffs: they swept the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round, eliminated the Golden State Warriors in six games in the second round, then swept the Memphis Grizzlies in the Western Conference Finals.
This will be the Miami Heat's fourth appearance in the NBA Finals and the third appearance in three years, attempting to win their second consecutive NBA championship. The Heat finished with the best regular season record, recording a league leading 66 wins, and first place in the Southeast Division. They swept the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the playoffs before eliminating the Chicago Bulls in five games in the second round, winning four straight games in the latter series. In the Eastern Conference Finals, the Heat defeated the Indiana Pacers in seven games.

During the regular season these two teams have played twice, with Miami winning both games. This makes for one hell of a matchup with the title on the line. And there are a few interesting side bars involved in this series. San Antonio has never lost an NBA finals, they are 4-0 all time in the big dance, with this being their 5th trip to the final, and their first since 2007. As for the Heat, they are 2-1 all time in the NBA Finals, with this being their 3rd straight trip to the big dance.
I've been saying this before and I'll say it again, I still feel that the Spurs are the most balanced basketball team in the league. The Heat as we know have the most talent heavy team in the league and they showed that in game seven against the Pacers in the East Final. This series will go an easy seven games. There are two things that will give the Spurs an early advantage in the series. One is all this time off they've had to rest between the end of the West finals and beginning of the NBA finals. Two I think its obvious the Spurs have the better big man down low than the Heat do. But at the end of the day I just feel the Heat are going to be too much for the Spurs and Miami will take the title again this year in seven games.
