Key Dates For NHL

We talk about the big dates for the NHL. The big games marked off during the course of the season. Winter Classic, All Star Game, Olympic break, things like that. The Winter Classic is happening on New Years Day, a game which features the Blues and Wild from Target Field in Minnesota. We have a two week break for the Olympics this year. Oh there's more. The League just announced more key dates.

-Monday, March 21 - NHL Trade Deadline (3 p.m. ET)
-Friday, April 29 - Last day of the NHL regular season
-Monday, May 2 - Start of the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs
-Thursday, June 30 - Last possible day of the Stanley Cup Final
-Thursday, July 7 - Round 1 of the 2022 NHL Draft
-Friday, July 8 - Rounds 2-7 of the 2022 NHL Draft
-Wednesday, July 13 - Opening of NHL Free Agency (12 p.m. ET)

Any hockey fan can tell you, that the two most fun days on the hockey calendar, that have nothing to do with games being played, are trade deadline and free agency. Trade deadline is always fun to see what blockbuster moves are going to be made by the buyers and sellers. Then there's free agency kickoff. It's like Christmas morning for hockey fans. Seeing what big names get signed where, we're checking sites every minute or so to see who got moved.
