Flight Captain Grounded

Going into year two in his National Football League career, there were slightly higher expectations being placed on New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson. Being an NFL QB is high enough expectations, but its turned up just a little bit higher when its in the spotlight of playing in New York. First year didn't go so great for Wilson, who was looking to improve in year two. Well, those plans are on hold for the time being.

Wilson got injured in the Jets 24-21 win in their preseason opener against the Eagles. At first it was thought to be possibly season ending. Tuns out its going to cost him just a month. But still.

It seems like its a bad dream for Jets fans. Something seems like whatever can go wrong, does, if you play quarterback for the Jets. This is the 2nd time in the last like ten months that Zach has hurt his knee. This had been one of the knocks against Zach when he got drafted. How durable could this guy be? he had delt with shoulder and thumb issues in college, which I think kept a few GM's at their distance. but not the Jets. They took the chance on him. And he can't stay on the field.

Looks like, potentially, that Joe Flacco could be the opening day starter for the Jets. Hell the last time the Jets had a quarterback start every game in a season was in 2015 when it was Ryan Fitzpatrick. Yeah that's never a good sign.

This isn't a full blown disaster but it is a buzzkill for the franchise that's trying to get itself back to respectability
